GMC Teams Holding Their Own Against Shore So Far This Season
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–On the eve of week seven of the 2010 GMC Gridiron season, GMC Gridiron took a look at how the Greater Middlesex Conference was performing against the Shore Conference this season. Last year, the GMC was 24-40 overall against the Shore. However, through the first 23 games this year, the league has been much more competitive. The Shore only holds a slight lead of 12-11 so far this season.
Breaking things down by division, the GMC Red is 2-3 against Shore Opponents this year while the GMC White is 3-4, and the GMC Blue is 6-5. Middlesex leads the way for the GMC Blue and the entire conference with a 3-0 mark while Cardinal McCarrick is 2-1. Metuchen is 0-2. The Shore teams have outscored the GMC by a margin of 470-336 though, or an average of 20.4 to 14.6. The GMC has more shutouts though (5-4). Some notable wins by the GMC so far this year included Sayreville defeating Toms River East (16-0) on September 18th while East Brunswick knocked off Howell last week (21-13).
