2010 Monroe Sports Center Fall League–Results–Week Seven–October 27th

MONROE, NJ–On Wednesday night, GMC Hoops traveled down to the Monroe Sports Center for the seventh week of action from this league. This was the fifth time the site was at MSC, and got all the results from the games played. There were a total of eight games played. South Brunswick and Robbinsville had byes. Below are the results of all the games:

2010 Monroe Sports Center Fall League–Results–Week Seven–October 27th

  • New Egypt 61–Spotswood 37–The Warriors defeated a GMC team for the second week in a row with the win over the Chargers. New Egypt pulled away from a 22-17 edge at the 4:35 mark with 17 unanswered points over a span of 7:18 to take a 39-17 lead early in the second half. Mark Przyzblkowski led NEHS with 18 points on 8 of 14 shooting including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc while also collecting 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal. Warrior big man, Desmond Hubert had a solid game with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the floor and 4 of 5 shooting from the foul line to go along with 9 boards, 5 blocks, 2 assists, and a steal. Hubert also had three dunks. Tommy Soulias had a tough shooting night, but still ended up with 12 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. The Warriors shot 27 of 54 from the floor while the Chargers were only 14 of 55 from the field. New Egypt also scored 11 points off of 14 Spotswood turnovers and had 16 second chance points off of 16 offensive rebounds.
  • Allentown 49–J.F. Kennedy 43–The Mustangs jumped out to a 22-14 first half lead as A.J. Pichalski scored 8 points on 4 of 6 shooting, and grabbed 6 boards. However, the Redbirds rallied with a 35-21 showing in the second half including a 25-15 surge over the final 16:41 for the six point win. JFK outrebounded Allentown by a margin of 50-24 including a 22-5 edge on the offensive glass, and took advantage of that with a 20-2 advantage in second chance points, but committed 17 turnovers. Allentown had a 15-4 edge in points off turnovers, and an 18-6 edge in three pointers for the victory. Pichalski ended up making 7 of 13 shots from the floor for 14 points along with 14 rebounds for a double-double. Pichalski also added 2 blocks, 2 charges, an assist, and a steal.
  • South Amboy 34–Steinert 30–Chalk one up for the Guvs! For the second straight week, South Amboy played tough against a Group IV school, and this time, it paid off. Trailing 25-16 with just under 14 minutes to play, the Governors finished the game with an 18-5 tear including each of the final eight points for the 34-30 victory. Robert Burns scored a layup with 35.3 seconds left to give the Guvs a 32-20 lead, and then Steve Herdman swiped a steal, and handed out an assist on another layup by Burns to wrap up the four point victory.
  • Princeton 58–West Windsor-Plainsboro 56–Princeton led 56-44 with about 1:45 to play, but West Windsor-Plainsboro rallied with a 10-0 run to pull within a basket in the waning moments, but Princeton got two free throws to ice the game.

  • Marlboro 52–Notre Dame 44
  • Monroe 57–Shore Regional 45
  • Hunterdon Central 43–Perth Amboy 42
