Cotoia Tournament Opening Round At SPHS Postponed Until Tuesday

Holiday Blizzard KOs First Round Action In Second Annual Tourney

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–On Sunday evening, GMC Hoops received word from South Plainfield High School Boys Basketball head coach, Bob Conway that the first round games in the second annual Anthony J. Cotoia Tournament that were originally scheduled for Monday afternoon have been rescheduled until Tuesday due to the holiday blizzard that is currently impacting the Garden State.

The snowstorm, which is expected to bring 12 to 18 inches of snow to much of New Jersey, has already hampered the schedule for the first day of action in holiday tournaments involving GMC teams as the games from Cardinal McCarrick Freshmen and JV tournaments scheduled for both Sunday and Monday have been scheduled for later this week.

Back to the Cotoia Tournament, the times of the first round games haven’t changed as J.P. Stevens plays South Plainfield at 1:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon while Middletown South takes on Perth Amboy at 3:00 PM.
