Here are video highlights from ninth seeded South Brunswick’s 46-41 victory over eighth seeded New Brunswick in the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament’s Round of 16 on Thursday night at NBHS. The Vikings put together a 15-7 third quarter including a 12-3 tear over the final 4:39 of the period to take a 34-26 lead. Mike Green and Chris Bourne each had four points during the run.
The Vikes led by as many as nine points in the fourth quarter before the Zebras rallied with an 11-4 spurt including an offensive rebound and putback by Jaquan Cook to cap an unconventional three point play to help close the gap to two at 41-39. However, New Brunswick was unable to get any closer. Cook ended up with a game high 15 points while Milton Pittman and Gary Reeder each chipped in with 10 points each for the Zebras while Kory Sanders ended up with 12 points including three treys and a traditional three point play for South Brunswick.
