RAHWAY, NJ–On Thursday, the quarterfinal round of the 2011 Rahway Summer League took place at Rahway High School. There were four games on the night including three involving teams from the GMC. Only one team advanced to the semifinal round as fifth seeded J.P. Stevens jumped out to a 17-6 lead with 6:14 left, and then held off a late rally by fourth Perth Amboy to come away with a 22-18 victory. Below is the play-by-play from the final 30 minutes of the contest:
First Half
10:00–arrive–J.P. Stevens up 7-0.
9:36–JPS–Sahej Chowdary drives along baseline from left side for reverse layup, and a 9-0 lead.
8:45–JPS–deflects pass out of bounds.
8:22–PA–three pointer from right wing for a 9-3 JPS lead.
6:35–PA–draws foul, and makes 1 of 2 FTs for a 9-4 JPS lead.
5:36–JPS–Sky Harris hits jumper from left side of paint for an 11-4 lead.
5:04–JPS–calls timeout after Harris gets rebound.
4:30–JPS–Harris fouled, but misses both FTs.
3:43–PA–gets hands on loose ball, and draws foul on layup attempt, but missed both FTs.
2:51–PA–traps Hawks at midcourt, and forces turnover.
2:09–PA–gets a couple offensive rebounds, and draws foul for two FTs, and an 11-6 JPS lead.

6.0–JPS–Chowdary deflects pass that is stolen, ball goes back to Chowdary for a layup, and a 13-6 lead at the half.

17:12–JPS–Brandon Ahmed misses shot from left baseline, and Harris is unable to put in the follow.

16:22–JPS–Chowdary drives in from the right side, but slips and falls–traveling–turnover–Chowdary had to be helped off the floor.
15:51–PA–misses layup attempt.
15:29–PA–after Sorrell misses shot attempt, and Xavier Johnson is unable to get the rebound, Panthers draw foul on the floor.
15:05–JPS–Johnson steals inbounds.
14:46–JPS–John Maxham misses layup attempt from left low block.
14:19–PA–turns it over fter missing shot in the paint.
14:10–PA–gets steal off press, but misses floater.
13:12–JPS–Harris gets kind bounce on layup for first points both teams in the second half for a 15-6 lead.

41.8–JPS–Ahmed gets his hands on deflected inbounds pass by PA, and is fouled–misses front end of one and one.
30.6–JPS–Harris fouled after getting rebound, and makes 1 of 2 FTs for a 20-15 lead.
19.5–PA–three pointer from left corner for a 20-18 JPS lead.
12.7–JPS–now in double bonus–Harris maks both FTs for a 22-18 lead.
0.0–PA–misses three point attempt, and then follow before Sorrell got the rebound and ran out the clock for a 22-18 victory.
