WEST ORANGE, NJ–In the third and final game that GMC Hoops saw at the Hoop Group Tip-Off Classic from West Orange High School, Seton Hall Prep went on an 11-3 run to end the first and begin the second for a 12-7 lead, and then broke open the game in the second half with a 18-9 spurt in the third quarter for a 43-24 lead en route to a 61-44 victory over Columbia. Below are the notes taken from the game:
First Quarter
Columbia calls for time with 4:02 to go in the game, and with a 4-1 lead. Â The Cougars scored four unanswered points after the Pirates jumped out in front with 1 of 2 FTs.
Seton Hall Prep closes out the first period with 8 of the last 11 points including a layup by Spencer Wiesz for a 9-7 lead heading into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
Columbia calls for a 30 second timeout at the 7:31 mark after Stephan Mosely scores a basket as he is fouled for an 11-7 lead. Â After the timeout, Mosely connected on the bonus free throw for a 12-7 edge. Â
The Cougars tried to battle back with four of the next six points to pull within three at 14-11, but The Prep retook control again with seven of the next nine points for a 21-13 lead before Columbia called for time with a little more than two minutes left in the half. Â
The Pirates then ended the half with four of the last six points including a nice nifty drive for a floater by Wiesz that wowed the crowd, and gave SHP a 25-15 lead going into the locker room
Third Quarter
Columbia calls for time with 4:42 to go in the period after Seton Hall Prep got a two handed dunk by Dallas Anglin, and a drive through the paint for another throw down by Anglin for a 29-19 lead. Â Â
Following the timeout, Mosely scored a layup and Anglin struck again for two threes from the right wing for a 37-24 lead. Â Seton Hall Prep closed the quarter with a 18-7 tear for a 43-24 lead heading into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter
Seton Hall Prep picked up right where it left off in the fourth quarter by extending its lead to 47-27, but much to its credit, Columbia didn’t quit. Â The Cougars got a three pointer and a layup to close within 47-32 at the 4:18 mark. Â Columbia then drew a charge on Anglin, and followed that up with a conventional three point play midway through the period for a 47-35 Pirates lead. Â
However, despite staying within twelve for a stretch, the Cougars were unable to get closer as the Pirates led 56-40 with just under a minute left, and outscored their rival by a 5-4 margin the rest of the way including a three that got a kind roll from the left side by Mosely for the 61-44 final score.
