GMC Hoops–Play-By-Play–Woodbridge @ Sayreville–White Division Clash–January 26, 2012

SAYREVILLE, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to Sayreville War Memorial High School to take in a White Division Clash between the Bombers and Woodbridge. The Barrons turned a 34-30 deficit about midway through the third quarter deficit into a 46-39 lead midway through the fourth after a 16-5 tear. Leading 59-52 with less than a minute and a half remaining, Woodbridge had to hang on as Sayreville got two long range threes from Corey Taite to pull within three with 18 seconds left, but Duquan Bailey, who went 6 of 6 at the line in the final 27 seconds, made two pairs of free throws to seal the 65-58 win. Earlier in the second half, senior Keith Hughes connected on a three from the right of the top of the key for his 1,000th career point. Below is play-by-play from the last 21:42 of the contest.

First Half

Sayreville led 11-10 with 5:42 to go in the first half before Kyle Anderson got a steal, and drew a foul that resulted in one of two from the line at the 5:10 mark for a 11-11 tie.  The Bombers got a three pointer from the right side by Chris Henderson for a 16-12 lead before the Barrons went on with a 12-4 tear that included two free throws by Hughes, a putback by Mika Graham, and layins by Kyle Anderson and Kyle Pearson for a 24-20 lead.  Corey Taite then closed out the first half scoring with two free throws after being fouled with two seconds left for the two point Woodbridge lead at the intermission.


Third Quarter
