PISCATAWAY, NJ–On Thursday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to Piscataway High School for the first time this season to take in the Red Division contest between the Chiefs and Colonia. The Patriots got off to a fast start with a couple threes en route to a 10-3 lead. However, after a P-Way timeout by new head coach, Antoine Allen, the Chiefs exploded with a 17-4 tear over a span of just 3:48 to take a 20-14 lead. From there, the Chiefs gradually pulled away to have a lead as big as 18 points in the fourth quarter before winning 67-51. David Claybrook and JoJo Hoover both had steals for one handed dunks in the fourth quarter as the Chiefs put the game out of reach. Below are some game notes from the contest.

Colonia enters this game at 1-1 while Piscataway is 0-1. The Patriots lost their season opener at South Brunswick on Friday night, but rebounded well with a win on the road at Blue Division Carteret in the third crossover game in the conference this year. Meanwhile, Piscataway had a bye in the seven team Red Division on Friday night before losing on the road at St. Joseph’s on Tuesday night.
