East Brunswick, Middlesex, South River, Timothy Christian, and Woodbridge Win Tourney Titles
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–It was slim pickings for the GMC this holiday season with only five tournament titles to show for. Struggles against non-conference competition with a 22-30 mark over the holidays had a lot to do with it. However, there were several teams in the conference that managed to have success despite the tough odds. Below are the six teams that won holiday tournaments.

- Middlesex–Shello/Santy Tournament
- Perth Amboy Tech–NJTAC Holiday Tournament
- South River–Genevieve Hawley Tournament
- Timothy Christian–Patriots Holiday Invitational at Valley Forge Christian College
- Woodbridge–Keith Benovengo Tournament
In addition, there were several GMC teams that finished second in their respective tournaments. Below are the six teams that were runner’s-up in their respective holiday tournaments.Â

An additional note, Woodbridge winning the Keith Benovengo Holiday Tournament in Scotch Plains marked the first time that the Barrons won a holiday tournament since GMC Hoops was launched in the Summer of 2000. The closest the Barrons came to winning a holiday tournament during the 12 year span was in 2007 when they lost to Sayreville (80-68) in the Championship of the Wildcat Holiday Tournament at High Point.Â
