Here are highlights from the action in a 2014 GMCT Quarterfinal between 5th seeded Colonia and 4th seeded North Brunswick. The third contest of the day at MCC was the closest and most riveting. After a first half that saw both teams grind it out offensively, Colonia led 19-18, but North Brunswick rallied in the third with a 15-8 showing that including an 8-0 run to end the frame for a 33-27 lead heading into the fourth.
However, the Patriots still managed to advance to their first GMCT Final Four since 2008 by opening the final period with an 11-1 run for a 38-34 lead, and then pulled away from there to the 53-46 victory. Sophomore guard, Chase Barneys led the way for the Pats with 18 points while junior J.J. Corbett chipped in with 12. Eric Slade led North Brunswick in a losing cause with 10 points before leaving the game with an injury in the second half while Joe Castellanos still managed to add 9 points despite going to the floor hard on a couple of occasions.
