UNION, NJ–During the 7:00 PM round of contests on Wednesday night at the Kean University Spring League, GMC Hoops took in action from J.F. Kennedy’s contest against Livingston of Essex County. Livingston broke open a close game in the first half with a 13-7 spurt over the last 10:30 of the half for a 22-15 lead at the intermission, and then opened the second half on a 16-4 tear including three treys and a conventional three point play to take a 38-19 lead with 10:18 left en route to a 54-36 victory. Below are some notes from the contest.
First Half
10:30–Arrive with Livingston leading 9-8.
4:16 left in first half and Livingston leads 17-13. Â On 8-5 run. Â Joe Duffy scored on a putback for JFK.
2:30–LIV–hits three pointer from left wing for a 5-0 run and a 22-13 lead.
15.3–JFK–Andrew Allen fouled. Â Makes both fts for a 22-15 Livingston lead.
0:00–LIV–misses follow at the buzzer, but still lead 22-15 at half.
Second Half
15:40–LIV opens 2nd half on a 7-0 run for a 29-15 lead.
10:18–LIV–completes a three point play after making two threes to highlight a 9-4 spurt for a 38-19 lead.
4:33–JFK–on a 7-0 run to pull within 47-31. Â Joe Duffy sinks a three pointer from the right side while Stepp Ozgiebe added a field goal during the run.
