Here is a slideshow of photos from the action in the 2014 season opener for the Rutgers men’s basketball team against old Atlantic 10 rival, George Washington. In this contest, the Scarlet Knights opened the game scoreless for the first 5:24 of the contest, committed 10 first half turnovers, and shot only 21 percent in the first 20 minutes as they fell behind 33-21, and never really recovered after that in a 70-53 loss. Kethan Savage led the Colonials with a game high 18 points along with 11 rebounds for a double-double while dishing out 4 assists. Joe McDonald chipped in with 15 points while Patricio Guarino added in the win for GW. Former Paterson Catholic standout, Myles Mack led RU in defeat with 14 points along with 3 assists and 2 rebounds while freshman Mike Williams added 10 and D.J. Foreman chipped in with 9.
