MADISON, NJ–On Tuesday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to Morris County and the campus of FDU-Florham to see the 2014 edition of the Battle of Madison Avenue between the Devils and crosstown rival, Drew University. FDU-Florham trailed 27-19 upon arrival with 5:19 remaining in the first half, but the Rangers grew that lead to 9 at the half. Drew then opened up the second half with the first four points including a dunk by former Middletown North standout, Jason Huelbig for a 39-26 lead. Former Rutgers Prep standout, Mike Klinger then added a baseline jumper and a three pointer during a 9-2 run by the Rangers for a 48-28 lead. From there, Drew cruised to its first win over FDU-Florham in four years with a 71-51 victory. Below are game notes from the action:
