SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–In the first game of the GMC Hoops Friday night doubleheader at the 2015 Raritan Bay Summer League, there was a non-conference battle between two Union County schools and former Mountain Valley Conference rivals: Roselle and Union Catholic. In a very fast paced, back and forth game, both teams exchanged leads 5 times and had five ties over the last 23:09 of the contest while neither team had a lead bigger than 8 points until the final 2:21 of the contest when Roselle began a decisive 19-3 tear to come away with a hard fought, 55-42 victory. First Half
Game was tied 3 times over last 3:09. Â There were also 3 lead changes. Â Roselle ended half on a 4-0 run for a 25-21 lead. Â Roselle and UC combined for 20 points over last 3:09. Â Roselle out scored UC 12-8. Â Very up and down and up-tempo style of play throughout.
Second Half
11:07–UC out scores Roselle 5-4 to open half and cut deficit to 29-26.
4:45–Roselle scores 5 unanswered to go up 34-26.
3:46–Roselle timeout after 7-0 UC run including a three and two transition layups to close gap to 34-33.
2:41–UC–hits back to back threes to tie the game at 36-36, and then take the lead 39-36.
0:00–Roselle ties the game at 39-39 with 2:21 left to spark a 19-3 tear to end the game for a 55-42 victory
