This contest matched-up two former teammates from Monroe Township High School as Danny Brix and Stonehill took on Ahmid Williams and Bloomfield. Following a Williams jumper that closed the gap to 53-48, Stonehill went on a decisive 25-9 surge over the next 7 minutes to take a 78-57 lead with under 7 minutes to play, and held off a late Bloomfield rally for the 89-85 victory.
Brix played brilliantly during the key stretch with several of his 6 assists on the game as well as an offensive rebound that set up another score. The Stonehill senior finished with 7 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and a steal while only committing one turnover in 25 minutes of action. Williams bookended our visit with a jumper at the 13:12 mark, and a three just before the buzzer to end up with 5 points on 2 of 4 shooting while also collecting a steal and a rebound in 11 minutes of action. Stonehill improved to 9-2 on the season while Bloomfield dropped to 3-7.
