Here is a slideshow of photos from the action in the GMC Hoops JV Game of the Week for opening night of the 2015-16 Greater Middlesex Conference Boys Basketball Season between North Brunswick and East Brunswick. The JV Bears of East Brunswick hosted the JV Raiders of North Brunswick in a rematch of sorts since most of the players on both these squads played against each other in the 2015 Perth Amboy/GMC Freshmen Tournament Championship, which was won by North Brunswick (54-37) last February.
EB’s JV jumped out to a 13-4 first quarter lead, and then had an 11-4 spurt in the middle of the second for its largest lead of the game at 27-17 with 3:05 remaining in the first half. Highlighting the EB run were treys from Mitchell Pingoy, Steven Marx, and Eric Schneider. North Brunswick’s JV rallied though by scoring 13 of the next 15 points over a span of 5:20 to take a 30-29 lead on a three by Jordan Salisbury at the 5:45 mark of the third. For the next 9:20, there were 9 lead changes and a tie before the JV Raiders put together a decisive 6-0 run in just 58 seconds for a 53-48 lead. EB only got as close as two points after that as North Brunswick won, 56-53.
