GMC Hoops Game Notes–Calvary Christian @ East Brunswick Tech–December 23, 2015–Non-Conference Clash

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–On a very quiet day schedule wise two days before Christmas, East Brunswick Tech was one of three GMC teams in action as they hosted Calvary Christian of Old Bridge in a non-conference game. The Tigers fell behind by 10 early (15-5) over the first quarter and a half of the contest, but then outscored the Lions by a 26-9 margin the rest of the way including a 13-5 tear over the final 10 minutes to come away with a 31-24 victory. Senior Noah Westbrook led the charge with all 11 of his points in the second half while Mason Settembre added 7 points including two threes. Big man, Enudy Jimenez chipped in with 6 points, which also all came in the second half. Below are game notes from the action:

First Quarter

CC jumps out to a 12-5 lead on a conventional three point play by Nate Barnes, a three pointer by Andrew Fischer, and field goals by Tim Jackson, Noah Errichetti, and Steven Cato. Five different players scored for the Lions. Mason Settembre had a three for EB Tech while Silas Stanley added a field goal.

7:30–Calvary timeout with EB Tech leading 22-19 after 1 of 2 FTs by Mason Settembre.

2:51 left and Calvary calls a timeout after a 6-0 run by the Tigers including two baskets by Enudy Jimenez and a score by Noah Westbrook give EB Tech a 28-19 lead.

1:54 left in the game and EB tech calls time after Calvary Christian’s Tim Jackson hits three pointer from right wing to close the gap to 28-22.

1:31–EBT–Westbrook fouled and makes 1 of 2 FTs for a 29-22 lead.

1:00 left in the game and Calvary calls time after reverse layup by Tim Jackson closes gap to 29-24.
