GMC Hoops Game Notes–Perth Amboy Tech @ South Amboy–Gold Division Clash–February 3, 2016

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–On Wednesday night, GMC Hoops traveled out to South Amboy to see the Guvs in Gold Division action versus division leading Perth Amboy Tech. After falling behind 6-1 over the first several minutes of the game, Amboy Tech scored 8 of the last 10 points of the first period and 9 of the last 13 points of the second for a 25-17 halftime lead. The Patriots then broke the game open in the third by starting the second half on an 11-2 spurt for a 36-19 lead, and cruised from there for a 52-29 victory. Sophomore forward Javon Fisher led the way with a game high 18 points while Eric Negro added 16 and Pedro Gonzalez chipped in with 10. Julian Munoz led South Amboy in defeat with 10 points. First Quarter

3:17 left in the first quarter and South Amboy takes a 6-1 lead after a score by Keahre Ford. Julian Munoz and Nick Reagan also had scores during run.

Second Quarter

5:50 left in the first half and Amboy Tech increases its lead to 11-8 on a lob pass from Kyrie Byers to Javon Fisher for a layup.

4:10 left in the first half and South Amboy calls time after a three from the left wing by Amboy Tech’s Kyle Gregory gives Pats a 16-13 lead.

2:39 left in the third quarter and South Amboy calls time after Eric Negro scores down low to cap an 11-2 Amboy Tech start for a 36-19 Patriots lead. Pedro Gonzalez also highlighted the run with a trey.

Fourth Quarter

4:00–Amboy Tech opens 4th on an 8-2 run including a layup from the left side by Javon Fisher for a 46-24 lead.

3:00 left in the game and Amboy Tech leads 48-24 after this jumper by Javon Fisher.

2:47–Amboy Tech’s Javon Fishee swipes a steal and goes in for an emphatic one handed slam and a 50-24 lead.

0:00–Game just ended here in South Amboy with Amboy Tech winning 52-29 after a score by Kyrie Byers and a dunk by Javon Fisher. Patriots outscored Guvs by a 51-23 margin over the last 28 minutes of the game.
