Carteret then opened the third by scoring 7 of the first 9 points for a 40-27 lead before Ahr countered with a 3-2 zone defense and clamped down on both Daniels-Porter and Jordan while forcing numerous turnovers to turn the tide with a 22-10 surge over the last 13 minutes or so of the contest to pull within one.

Following two free throws by BGA’s Alex Santiago (game high 23 points) that closed the gap to 50-49 with about a minute to play, Carteret got a huge and one bucket from Daniels-Porter with 38.4 seconds to play to go back up by three. The Trojans had several chances to score in the closing seconds, but couldn’t tie the game.
