Guvs Unable to Dig Out of First Half Hole in Championship

HIGHLANDS, NJ–Of the two teams from the GMC in the Shore-Middlesex Holiday Tournament at Henry Hudson Regional High School, South Amboy was least likely to get to the final. The Titans jumped out to a 17-8 first quarter lead, and led 28-16 at the half and then withstood a third quarter rally by the Governors to come away with a 46-40 victory for the holiday tourney title. Paul Eckleberry led Keansburg in the win with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds while Daniel Vital chipped in with 14 points. Kyle Gasiewski led all scorers with a game high 19 points in defeat for South Amboy.
