Raritan Bay Summer League Set to Return in 2022

South Amboy Summer League to Come Back after Two Year Absence

SOUTH AMBOY, NJ—Last week, GMC Hoops learned that the Raritan Bay Summer League will be returning after a two year hiatus.  This was confirmed by Tom Reilly, one of the league’s co-directors.  The league, which has been running since the early 2000s, and covered by GMC Hoops since 2004, was shut down the past two summers due to COVID.

The Raritan Bay Summer League has been a staple of GMC Hoops Summer League coverage.  It has always featured youth league, middle school, and high school teams from all around Central Jersey and Staten Island.  Usually teams that have played in this league compete in three divisions:  5th and 6th, 7th and 8th, and High School.

League play usually starts in the first or second week of June, and lasts throughout the summer until the end of July.  There are no playoffs.  All games are played at the air conditioned South Amboy Middle-High School Gymnasium.  Game times are normally 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 PM.
