Watch highlights from the action in Merrimack’s 58-48 victory over Wagner in a Northeast Conference clash. The Warriors opened the game on a 15-6 spurt in the first 7 minutes, and did let the Seahawks get closer than eight the rest of the way.
Much of Merrimack’s damage, especially in the 2nd half, came at the foul line. Getting into the double bonus with a little more than 11 minutes to play, the Warriors finished with more than 50 percent of their points at the charity stripe. Merrimack finished 31 of 42 from the line while Wagner was only 13 of 16.
The Warriors also enjoyed a 21-3 edge in scoring from beyond the arc. The Warriors shot 50 percent from long distance while the Seahawks only shot 5 percent. Minor Jordan led all scorers with 16 points including 11 of 12 from the line.
Jordan also collected 10 rebounds for a double-double along with 4 assists and a steal while teammate Ziggy Reid added 13 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal. Brandon Brown led Wagner in a losing cause 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, an assist, and a block. DeLonnie Hunt chipped in with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist.
Former Colonia standout, Jordan Derkack played 18 minutes and scored 6 points on a perfect 6 of 6 from the line while also collecting 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal for Merrimack.
