Here are video highlights from the second half and overtime of Middlesex County College’s win over Bergen County Community College. The Colts trailed 67-65 with less than two minutes to go when former Perth Amboy standout, Kearny Canela connected on a three pointer from the left wing for a 68-67 lead.
Former J.P. Stevens standout, Myles Reuben added a score for a 70-67 lead, but Bergen C.C. tied the contest on a three from the left wing with 47.3 seconds to go in regulation. Despite both teams having chances to score down the stretch, neither did, and we went to overtime. In the extra session, Canela struck again for a three, and Manny Omowole followed up with a trey himself for a 76-70 lead.
Bergen clawed within two on a couple scores, but couldn’t get any closer than that as Omowole, Canela, and Jeremy Cruz hit pairs of free throws to seal the 82-76 victory.
