South River @ Timothy Christian–December 15, 2007

Rams Hang On To Defeat Tigers From Patriot Conference For First Win, 59-55

PISCATAWAY, NJ–The Rams traveled to Piscataway to play Timothy Christian Saturday afternoon and had a relatively easy time in the first half with the Tigers, leading by 23 points late in the second quarter. The South River lead was still big, twenty points, at half-time. The Rams scored a lot off the fast break, taking advantage of the slower Tigers.

But alas, things would not be that easy for South River when they came back out on the court after the break. Timothy Christian made some adjustments and came roaring back in the second half, whittling away the lead, to actually go up by three points late in the fourth quarter. Big shots and free throws by Jimmy Witkowski and Eric Seawright with around a minute left averted what could have been a disastrous loss for the Rams.

But alas, a win is still a win and it evened South River’s record at 1-1 on the season. The Rams host Piscataway Vo-Tech on Tuesday @ 5:30PM.
