MIDDLESEX, NJ–The youthful, Spotswood Chargers, one senior, three juniors, and one sophomore met a well balanced Blue Jay team led by Mark Stockton (20). The game began with numerous turnovers and a foul plagued Charger first half, which found Senior center Nick Olesinski and Junior guard, Ross Gerhart confined to the bench with two fouls each. By the time both re-entered and the first half came to a close the game was blown open, 40-22.
The never say die Chargers came back to the floor with renewed enthusiasm and actually outplayed Middlesex 28-25 in the second half, but it was not enough to close the gap as Middlesex won by the score of 65-50. The Chargers were once again led by the tandem of Gerhart and Pace who scored 16 and 14 respectively. With the victory, Middlesex moves up to 2-0 both overall, and in divisional play while Spotswood drops to 0-2 in both.
