Vikings Win Third Straight And Fifth In Last Six Games, 43-38

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJSouth Brunswick was able to pull out their third straight GMC Red Divison win against the Eagles of Edison on Thursday night at home. Possibly overlooking Saturday’s matchup with Cardinal McCarrick, the Vikings got themselves entangled in a tough one, but ultimately prevailed as senior guard Arman Wilson led the way with 19 points and 8 tough rebounds. Early on it looked like South Brunswick would run away with it up 7-0, and forcing three Edison turnovers to start the game.

However, Edison fought back into the game with three pointers from Barry Holmes and Steve Migliore, who both led Edison with 10 points. Trailing by a point at the half 20-19, South Brunswick wasn’t getting scoring from anyone besides Wilson, Jordan Teicher, and Mohammed Sanu. Wilson and Teicher each had 8 going into halftime, and Sanu added 3. Late in the third and midway through the fourth, the leads went back and forth, but a clutch trey from Wilson put South Brunswick on top for the rest of the game. With 34.8 seconds left, South Brunswick’s Jordan Teicher got fouled with SB holding a three point lead. Teicher netted both to give him 12 points for the game, and perserved the 43-38 victory. With the victory, South Brunswick improved to 6-3 overall, and 4-2 in the GMC Red while Edison dropped its sixth straight, fell to 2-8 overall, and 1-5 in divisional play. South Brunswick will next travel to South Amboy on Saturday to take on Cardinal McCarrick in a GMC crossover game, in which is a rematch of last year’s wild GMCT semifinal game.
