Good morning everyone. On Saturday, I saw a tripleheader of games including two contests from the Play-In Round of the 2008 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, and a non-conference clash between Cardinal McCarrick, and Union, which is having a tremendous season under second year coach Tony DiGiovanni. If the name of the Union coach sounds familiar to you, it is because he previously coached in the GMC at Piscataway and New Brunswick. The Farmers entered the game with a 16-4 record including a recent win in overtime over Watchung Conference and state power, Linden. Union also only lost by four to Mount Vernon of New York in a showcase several weeks ago. Meanwhile, McCarrick had entered the contest with a 19-3 record including 17 straight wins.
