Another Walk To St. Joseph’s

On Saturday morning, I took another walk to St. Joseph’s to see the 2008 East Brunswick/GMC JV Quarterfinal between the top seeded Junior Falcons, and the ninth seeded Junior Spartans of Immaculata. I left the house at approximately 9:54 AM, which was much later than I had hoped. The last time I walked over to St. Joe’s for a Saturday morning game about six weeks ago, it took me about an hour an ten minutes to get there. I hurried over there as best as I could with my briefcase in hand.

According to MapQuest, the trip from my house in South Plainfield to St. Joseph’s is about 4.55 miles, and this time I got to the school a bit faster, with a trip time of approximately an hour and five minutes. Breaking that down, a traveled at about a rate of 14.3 minutes per mile. Due to my late start time though, I was still late for the game, but only by a couple minutes. When I entered the gym, the Junior Falcons were leading by a score of 5-4 with 6:05 to go in the first quarter. After the game, I left the school, had a little snack that I brought with me, and headed back home the same way. I stopped at a local Wendy’s in South Plainfield to have more of the snacks that I brought for the trip (I was pretty well prepared!), and finally arrived back home at 1:34 PM on Saturday afternoon.
