SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–While this past boys basketball season for teams in the Greater Middlesex Conference so many strong teams such as Piscataway, St. Joseph’s, Cardinal McCarrick, Monroe, Colonia, Middlesex, and Spotswood rack up 20 win seasons, the league overall was down in terms of the number of state tournament berths.
Out of the 29 teams that compete in boys basketball around the GMC, only 15 squads made it versus 17 that qualified in 2008, and 18 that got invited to the big dance in 2007. Four teams each qualified from the Red, White, and Blue while only three got in from the Gold Division. Below are the list of teams that qualified.

Of those 15 teams, three reached sectional finals, and eight reached sectional semifinals.
