SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–Despite the fact that the league overall was not as strong as it has been over the past couple of seasons, there were still a number of powerhouse teams coming from the Greater Middlesex Conference. There were seven teams in the conference that racked up 20 wins or more in 2008-09, and they came in all shapes and sizes. See below.
- Piscataway (24-6)
- St. Joseph’s (24-4)
- Cardinal McCarrick (20-7)
- Monroe (21-7)
- Colonia (20-6)
- Middlesex (21-7)
- Spotswood (20-6)
Then, throw in the fact that J.P. Stevens finished 18-9, and Sayreville had its second straight season of going 17-8, and you had 9 of the top 10 teams in the GMC winning 17 plus games.
