NEPTUNE, NJ–On Monday night, GMC Hoops traveled down to Rebounds in Neptune to take in some of the action from the opening night of the 2009 Hoop Group Headquarters Spring Boys High School Players League. There are a total of 16 teams in the league, but none of them come from the Greater Middlesex Conference. For the first time since 2006, no teams from the GMC will be competing. In 2006, Monroe competed along with East Brunswick. Then, in 2007, South Amboy, East Brunswick, and Monroe participated. Finally, in 2008, the Bears returned to build the foundation for what was a much improved season this year.
