GMC Hoops College Coverage–Results–December 2nd

UNION, NJ–On Wednesday night, GMC Hoops traveled over to the Harwood Arena on the main campus of Kean University to see the Cougars take on the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden. Led by Akinwande Oshodi of Florence High School, who had 9 points along with 2 charges in the first half, Eugene Tolliver (6 points on two threes), Kean jumped out to a 32-15 lead late in the first half. However, the Scarlet Raptors, which shot miserably at times from the field, never gave up, and outscored Kean by a margin of 41-27 the rest of the way to come up just short in a 59-56 Cougar victory.

Joshua Askew of Winslow Township helped the Scarlet Raptors rally by scoring 9 of his game high 16 points over the final 2:04 of the contest. He also had a chance to tie the game, but just missed on a fadeaway three point attempt from near the top of the key as time expired. Brian Lytle, a native of Union, New Jersey, turned in a rugged performance with a team high 14 points and 3 rebounds for Kean while former Linden standout, Jonathan Jones grabbed a game high 12 rebounds to go along with his 7 points. Colonia’s Vinnie Darpino had team high in minutes played for Kean with 30, and scored 8 points while collecting 3 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Former Woodbridge standout, Richie Jean-Jacques had three rebounds in 9 minutes played. Below are the results from the contest listed below:
