Colonia’s Darpino Earns Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League Honors

Former Patriots Standout Named To All-ACPBL Team And ACPBL All-Star Team

WESTCHESTER, NY–Earlier this season, GMC Hoops followed up on former Colonia player, Vinnie Darpino, who has been embarking on a long journey to play professional basketball. Starting his career with the Buffalo Stampede of the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League, Darpino has now linked up with another team in the league, the Westchester WildKatz, and he has begun making his mark.

Darpino, who played college ball at Kean University, recently scored 56 points in a game for the WildKatz, and recently earned the league’s Player of the Week Honors for Week 13. In addition, he has been selected to the All ACPBL Team, and named to this year’s All-Star Team. Through 13 games, Darpino is averaging 18.5 points per game, 2.8 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game, and 1.4 steals per game. His assist to turnover ratio is 1.53, and has made 17 threes for the WildKatz.

He along with teammate Brian Jackson hold the single game season record for points so far with 56 in a game versus the Beltway Bombers on March 5th. Darpino has the third best mark for threes in a game with seven while Jackson has the most in a game with 11. Both were made against Beltway. The duo of Darpino and Jackson combined for 112 points and 18 threes in the game. Unfortunately, the WildKatz lost both games to the Bombers. The WildKatz were 2-12 on the season. Another former player, Brett Godette (St. Peter’s and East Brunswick) is also played in the ACPBL for the Garden State Rebels.
