Reuben And Fenton Bright Spots At Middlesex C.C. This Season

Former J.P. Stevens And South River Standouts Make Positive Impacts For Blue Colts

EDISON, NJ–It was a season of transition at Middlesex County College, a new coach, and some new faces characterized a Blue Colts year that was the first without a playoff berth in five years. MCC was only 10-15 overall including a 8-14 mark in the Region XIX Division III league, and 8-11 in the Garden State Athletic Conference.

There were some positives though. A couple of them were from former standouts in the Greater Middlesex Conference. Myles Reuben, who helped J.P. Stevens to back to back GMCT Elite Eight berths in 2008 and 2009, and Shawn Fenton, who brought South River back to respectability in 2010. Reuben, who led the Blue Colts in scoring with 15.7 points per game this past season, was ranked 13th overall in scoring in Region XIX Division III. Meanwhile, Fenton was third on the team in scoring with a 10.3 points per game average.

Reuben was 127 of 338 from the floor for 37.6 percent including a 36 of 115 showing from beyond the arc for 31 percent. The Edison native also made 88 of 123 free throws for 71.5 percent. He also averaged 6.1 rebounds per game (3rd on the team), 1.5 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Meanwhile, Fenton went 86 of 245 from the floor this season for 35.1 percent including a 2 of 10 showing from three point land. The South River alum also made 42 foul shots while leading the team in rebounding with 7.1 boards per game. He also collected 1.3 assists per game, 0.9 blocks per game, and 0.4 steals per game. Reuben and Fenton were first and second in blocked shots on the team.
