The Red Raiders jumped out to a 15-5 lead midway through the first quarter, but the Guvs rallied with a 22-14 run from that point to the early third quarter to pull within two.
Keyport went on a 17-6 tear over a span of nearly eight minutes to take its biggest lead of the game at 46-33 with 7:49 left. South Amboy battled back again with a 14-3 tear over the next 7:37 to pull within two as sophomore forward Joe Fruncillo scored 6 points and sophomore guard Steve Herdman scored 8 points including two threes in the final minute.
However, the Red Raiders pulled out the win by making one of two free throws with 8.5 seconds left, and South Amboy missed a game tying three attempt as time ran out.
