GMC Hoops To Open 2012-13 Season With Top Two Clash

Site Starts Season With Tripleheader Between Falcons And Bears

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–The 2012-13 GMC Boys Basketball season is upon us, and GMC Hoops is emerging from its hibernation to get started on the season.  The site will begin the year with a clash of the top two teams in the GMC Hoops Pre-Season Top Ten, St. Joseph’s and East Brunswick.

The Falcons are looking to become the first team to repeat as four time Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament champions since the Perth Amboy Panthers of the 1970s.  Both St. Joe’s and East Brunswick are projected by the site to play in the GMCT final.  The site will also cover the Freshmen and JV Games as well.  Both schools have had frosh and JV teams win the Perth Amboy Freshmen and East Brunswick JV tourneys in each of the past two years.

Both schools made some news in the off-season with top players making college commitments as EB’s Rob Ukawuba announced he is attending NJIT next year while recently, Karl Towns of St. Joseph’s declared that he will be playing at Kentucky starting in 2014.  In addition, the Falcons got two transfers in Marques Townes (Cardinal McCarrick) and Wade Baldwin IV (Immaculata) while East Brunswick made a splash by winning the very competitive East Coast Conditioning Fall League back in October.
