Myles Reuben Enjoys NCAA Tourney Run With Stockton

Joins Colonia’s Usuwa On Ospreys Squad That Reaches Division III Sweet 16

GALLOWAY, NJ–Following his stellar career at J.P. Stevens, and a stop at Middlesex County College, where he led the team in scoring, Myles Reuben moved on to Stockton College, where he saw some action in the Osprey’s 2013-14 campaign that was highlighted by a Sweet 16 berth in the NCAA Division III men’s basketball tournament.

Led by the likes of former Colonia standout, Nnamdi Usuwa, the Ospreys finished at 25-5 overall including a 15-3 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).  Stockton claimed its 7th NJAC Tournament Championship with a 65-44 victory over William Paterson.  The Ospreys then followed that up with victories over Bowdoin College (72-66) and Cabrini College (85-76) in the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III at Radnor Pennsylvania.  Then, in the sectionals at Amherst, Massachusetts, Stockton lost a tough one to Morrisville State College (88-81).

Reuben played a minor role in the success of this year’s team.  He played in 19 games with no starts, and only averaged 8.6 minutes per game.  However, in that time, he tallied a total of 71 points, or an average of 3.7 points per game.   Reuben connected on 22 of 58 shots for just under 38 percent including 10 of 25 from three point range for 40 percent.  The former JPS standout also netted 17 of 24 from the foul line for 71 percent while also collecting 48 total rebounds (2.5 rpg), 10 assists (0.5 apg), 10 blocks (0.5 bpg), and 3 steals.  Reuben had several top performances from this past season despite his limited minutes.

On November 30, 2013, Reuben scored 12 points on 3 of 5 shooting including a three pointer while netting 5 of 6 at the foul line in just 11 minutes in a 101-79 victory over Neumann University.  He also collected 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in an 88-59 victory over Rowan University on January 15th.  Reuben added a career high 15 points on 5 of 6 shooting overall from the floor including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc in just 9 minutes playing time in a 90-69 victory over Ramapo College on January 18th.
