MONROE, NJ–In the second game of the Thursday night tripleheader at the Monroe Sports Center Summer League, the South Brunswick Vikings took on the Cougars of Colts Neck in another battle between GMC and Shore Conference schools. Led by the play of Mike Ugarte and Eric Savage, the Vikes broke away from a 5-5 tie with 15:15 to go in the first half with a 25-2 surge over a span of 7:42 to take a commanding 30-7 lead, and eventually led 41-15 at the half en route to a 62-29 victory. Also helping out in the win was Danesh Thirukmaran, who netted three treys including two during the key first half outburst. Below are game notes from the contest.
