Red Division Showdown For This Week’s Match-Up
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ–On Friday afternoon, GMC Gridiron will take a trip to Lombardi Field in Old Bridge to see the Knights Freshmen in action against Piscataway in a showdown between two top Red Division teams. Â This will be the third time that GMC Gridiron will be seeing P-Way in action while it will be the second time for Old Bridge. Â The Knights will also be looked at next week when they travel to EB for their season finale. Â Below is a game capsule with prediction on this contest.
Piscataway (7-0) at Old Bridge (5-1-1)–The Chiefs will clinch the Red Division title outright with a victory today.  Old Bridge, which has a tie against non-conference foe, Union City, could earn a share of the division crown with a win over P-Way today, and a victory over East Brunswick on the road next week.  In its two previous appearances on the GMC Gridiron Freshmen Game of the Week, Piscataway won by defeating EB in the season opener (30-6) and rolling past Edison in Week #3 (43-8).  Old Bridge also defeated the Eagles of EHS in Week #2 (35-16).  The only loss by the Knights came at the hands of South Brunswick (28-14).  Both teams have solid ground games, and with weather conditions forecast to be a bit on the  windy side, this game will be determined by which team is able to best control the line of scrimmage, and run the football the best.  P-Way gets our nod in this contest.  Prediction:  Piscataway wins, 35-17.
GMC Gridiron will be at Lombardi Field this afternoon for this Freshmen Game of the Week match-up followed by a trip to Frank R. Jost Memorial Field in South Plainfield to see the Tigers take on White Division leading Colonia in a varsity tilt on Friday night.
