E.B. Tech Edges South Amboy for First Win of Season, 61-56

Four Players Score in Double Figures for Tigers in Victory

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–On Monday afternoon, East Brunswick Tech hosted South Amboy in its home opener and second Gold Division game for both teams. The Tigers had four different players score in double figures to post their first victory of the season, 61-56 over the Guvs, which remain winless on the young season.

Connor Stratton led the way for the victors with a game high 18 points while Silas Stanley chipped in with 13. Noah Westbrook contributed with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds while Josh Brody added 7 points and 7 steals. Ryan O’Leary led South Amboy in a losing cause by equaling the game high with 18 points including three treys. Tim Kales chipped in with 12 points.

East Brunswick Tech held a 16-14 edge in two point field goals made while holding a 21-15 advantage in made free throws. South Amboy held a 12-6 edge in points scored from beyond the arc. With the victory, E.B. Tech evens its record on the season at 1-1 in both GMC Gold and overall play while South Amboy slips to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in divisional competition. The Guvs have lost two of their three games by six points or less including a 58-54 opening night loss to South River.
