Jordan Little Collects Triple Double in Opening Round Victory
JERSEY CITY, NJ–On Saturday morning, Perth Amboy Tech opened up holiday tourney play with a contest against David Brearley of Kenilworth in the Hudson River Classic at McNair Academic. Â Amboy Tech was firing on all pistons with three players scoring in double figures including senior forward, Jordan Little, who collected a triple double of 29 points, 22 rebounds, and 10 blocks to lead the way in a 72-35 rout of the Bears.
Noel Garay added 17 points, 7 assists, and 6 boards while Luis Rodriguez chipped in with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Â Kyrie Byers also contributed with 9 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Â Five of the eight players that played in the game for Amboy Tech scored while all 7 players got into the books for Brearley. Â Both teams made three treys in the contest, and Brearley held a 6-5 edge in free throws made, but Amboy Tech had a decisive 29-12 edge in two point field goals made. Â
Leading by only a dozen at the half (38-26), Amboy Tech broke open the game in the second half with a 34-9 showing over the last two quarters for the easy win. Â With the victory, Perth Amboy Tech improved to 2-1 on the young season, and advanced to play McNair Academic, a 60-40 winner over METS Charter in the other opening round game, in the Championship on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Â Brearley fell to 1-2 on the year with the loss.
