BOUND BROOK, NJ–In the first game of the GMC Hoops doubleheader at the 2015 Bound Brook Summer League at the Bound Brook Recreation Center, two old Route 28 rivals went at it as Middlesex took on the hometown Crusaders in the 4:45 PM contest. Â The Blue Jays hung tough through much of the contest. Â Middlesex jumped out to a 10-2 lead after threes by Kyle Bogus and Chris Spencer and a steal for a layup by Vince Chiera. Â
However, Bound Brook rallied back behind an 18-7 rally to go ahead 20-17, and lead at the half, 22-19. Â The Crusaders then increased the lead to 31-25 before a three by Chiera closed the gap to 31-28. Â Middlesex wouldn’t get any closer though as Bound Brook finished the game on a 22-9 tear including 11 of the last 15 points for a 53-37 victory. Â Below are game notes from the contest:
