BOUND BROOK, NJ–In the second game of the GMC Hoops Doubleheader at the Bound Brook Summer League on Wednesday afternoon, Timothy Christian took on Hunterdon Central. Â The Tigers had a tall order when it faced off against the Red Devils from the Skyland Conference’s Delaware Division. Â The school from Flemington jumped out to a 24-0 lead over the first 15 minutes or so of the contest before TCS got on the board with back to back threes. Â From there, the Tigers played respectably behind the efforts of soon to be junior Will Clemons and soon to be sophomore Robert Saydee, but Hunterdon Central went on to win 52-23. First Half
14:42–HC jumps out to an 8-0 lead on two threes.
14:06–TCS draws charge.
12:44–HC–fouled and makes both FTs for a 10-0 lead.
11:16–HC fouled and makes both FTs for a 12-0 lead.
9:19–HC–calls timeout after making 1 of 2 FTs for a 13-0 lead and grabbing rebound on defensive end.
9:00–HC–three point play for a 16-0 lead.
8:23–HC–layup for an 18-0 lead.
7:27–HC–steal leads to a layin and a 20-0 lead.
7:13–HC–steal leads to breakaway layup and a 22-0 lead.
5:00–TCS–gets on board with a three, but HC still leads 24-3.
3:51–TCS–timeout after hitting three from left side to close gap to 26-6.
0:00–HC–ends half on an 11-0 tear including a nice drive into the paint and dish for layup before the buzzer for a 37-6 lead at half.
Second Half
16:04–HC–timeout after an 8-2 start to 2nd half by TCS including a three and a layup by Will Clemons and a bucket by Robert Saydee. Â HC leads 39-14.
11:50–TCS–pulls to within 41-19 on a layup from the left side by Saydee and a three from the right wing.
8:06–HC–calls timeout with a 43-21 lead after layup by Saydee for TCS.
6:09–HC now leads 49-21 after a couple threes.
0:00–HC runs out the clock and wins 52-23.
