Ridge JV Pulls Away from Scoreless Tie with 9-2 run over last 5:39
PISCATAWAY, NJ–In between halves of the varsity scrimmage between Ridge and Piscataway, the JV squads of both schools went at it for a quarter. The two squads also played another quarter later, but only the first quarter was covered by GMC Hoops. Ridge’s JV broke away from a scoreless tie with a little more than five and a half minutes to go in the frame with a 9-2 spurt for the edge. Below are some brief notes on what happened in that period:
First Quarter
5:39–Still scoreless.
2:50–PWAY timeout–RID leads 4-0.
1:00–PWAY–fouled and makes both FTs for a 7-0 lead.
21.0–PWAY–steal for layup and first points of qtr for a 7-2 RID lead.
0:00–RID–just misses three from beyond the top of the key, but win the period, 9-2.
