Here is a slideshow of photos from the 2nd half action between Pace University of the Northeast-10 Conference and Georgian Court University of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in an NCAA Division 2 men’s basketball clash. It was a reunion of sorts as former Woodbridge teammates and 1,000 point scorers, Kyle Pearson (Pace) and Keith Hughes (Georgian Court) played against each other. Leading 41-32 at the half, Pace opened the second half on a 9-3 run thanks to three treys for a 50-35 lead.
Georgian Court, led by Hughes rallied with a 29-12 surge to take a 64-62 lead on dunks by Hughes and former DePaul Catholic standout, Juwuan Carter. The game continued to go back and forth for a big with 3 lead changes and 3 ties before Pearson netted two free throws with 2:44 remaining to break a 73-73 deadlock and spark a 9-0 finish by the Setters for an 82-73 victory. Hughes led GCU with 21 points while Pearson scored 6 of his 10 points in the second half for Pace. Former Perth Amboy and Bound Brook standout, Hamilton Capellan scored 11 points for GCU.
