GMC Hoops Game Notes–South Amboy @ Piscataway Tech–Gold Division Clash–January 29, 2016

PISCATAWAY, NJ–On Saturday morning, GMC Hoops traveled over to Piscataway Tech to see the Raiders take on South Amboy in a GMC Gold Clash. Trailing 13-10 midway through the second quarter, Piscataway Tech finished the first half on a 15-6 tear for a 25-16 halftime lead, and led by 15 late in the fourth quarter before South Amboy closed the game on a 6-0 run for a PWay Tech 47-38 victory. German Pimentel led the Raiders with 14 points while Branden Barnes chipped in with 11 and Ali Austin added 10. Kehare Ford led all scorers with a game high 17 points for the Guvs while Julian Munoz chipped in with 13. Below are game notes from the action:

First Quarter

3:14 left in the first quarter and South Amboy jumps out to a 7-4 lead on a three and a floater by Julian Munoz. Guvs on a 5-2 run.

2:28 left in the first quarter and PWay Tech calls time after another South Amboy score makes it 9-4.

1:40 left in the first quarter and South Amboy calls time after Brendan Barnes makes 1 of 2 FTs to pull PWay Tech within 4 at 9-5.

0:00–End of the first quarter and South Amboy leads Piscataway Tech 11-7 after a foul line jumper by Julian Munoz.


Second Quarter

5:43 left in the first half and Piscataway Tech closes to within two at 11-9 on a dunk by German Pimentel.

2:43 left in the first half and Piscataway Tech leads 15-13 after two FTs by German Pimentel and a three by Ali Austin.

0:00–At halftime between PWay Tech and South Amboy and the Raiders lead the Guvs 25-16 thanks to a 15-3 Raiders tear including a three by Ali Austin and baby hook by Brendan Barnes. Third Quarter

4:35 left in the third and South Amboy calls time after PWay Tech scores 4 of the first 5 points for a 29-17 lead.

Fourth Quarter

7:00 left in the game and PWay Tech leads South Amboy 39-26 after a trey by Ali Austin.

6:28 left in the game and South Amboy calls time trailing 39-28.

3:32 left in the game and South Amboy calls time after a putback by German Pimentel gives PWay Tech a 45-30 lead.
