GMC Hoops Highlights–October 29, 2003–Plainfield vs. Linden–Hawks Fall-Ball Semis

Here are some highlights from action in the 2003 HawksBasketball Fall-Ball Classic semifinals between Plainfield and Linden at Woodbridge High School. This was the peak of the HawksBasketball Fall-Ball League run by Bob Gaydos. In 2003, there were 24 teams that played in this fall league including: Linden, Plainfield, Scotch Plains (which had Derrick Caracter and Lance Thomas), Roselle Catholic, Franklin, St. Joseph’s, South Plainfield (which had Marquis Jones and Darren Smith and went 27-1 in the 2003-04 regular season), Marist, Bridgewater, and East Brunswick.

In this particular game, former Piscataway Tech coach, Mike Gordon played for Plainfield (#0 in pink or magenta in video) and is seen knocking down a couple threes. Also, current Piscataway coach, Antoine Allen is coaching for Linden. Plainfield knocked off Linden after the Tigers upset Scotch Plains in the quarterfinals (55-52), and earned the right to play South Plainfield in the championship with a 60-52 win.
