SOUTH AMBOY, NJ–In the second game of the GMC Hoops Tripleheader at the 2016 Raritan Bay Summer League on Monday night, two squads from the 7th and 8th Grade level went at it as the Central Jersey Jayhawks took on the Fords Bearcats of Woodbridge.
Fords broke away from an 11-8 lead at the 6:29 mark of the second half with a 10-3 spurt over a 5:19 span for a 21-11 lead, and went on to lead 25-16 at the half. The Jayhawks, which finished the half on a 5-4 run, opened the second half by scoring 8 of the first 12 points to close the gap to 29-24 at the 12:21 mark.
The Jayhawks pulled within three at 32-29 at the 11:05 mark, but couldn’t get closer as Fords hung on for a 38-33 win. Below are game notes from the action:
