GMC Hoops Game Notes–Old Bridge vs. North Brunswick–East Brunswick Team Camp–June 14, 2016

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–In the second game of the GMC Hoops tripleheader at the 2016 East Brunswick Team Camp on Tuesday, Old Bridge and North Brunswick went at it on Court #1 in the EBHS Main Gym.

In a back and forth game that saw neither team lead by more than 8 points in the time GMC Hoops watched, Old Bridge came up with the decisive spurt to win the game as soon to be senior, Kyle Paris took over.

Trailing by as many as eight in the second half, Old Bridge rallied with a 14-5 tear capped by a Kyle Paris tip in with 7 seconds left for a 42-41 lead over North Brunswick. The Raiders had a chance to win the game, but Will Osvald came up with a steal for OBHS to wrap up the Knights win.

First Half

17:33–Arrive with OB leading 5-4.

14:00–OB–on a 5-2 run with all points on FTs by Rich Calandrino and Kyle Paris for a 10-6 lead. Jumper by Jordan Salisbury for NBT’s only points.

11:10–OB–timeout after two scores by NBT for an 10-10 tie. Quadir Butler had a nice assist on one of the baskets.

0:00–OB–ends the half on a 12-11 run for a 22-21 lead at the half.

Second Half

15:35–NBT scores 2 of the first 3 points of half on FTs by Quadir Butler for a 23-23 tie.

10:41–NBT–scores 4 of last 6 points including two FTs by Adryan Salazar for a 29-25 lead.

9:29–NBT–Avery Clagget fouled on putback attempt. Makes both FTs for a 31-25 lead.

7:33–NBT–scores 5 of the last 8 points including a three by Claggett and two FTs by Salazar for a 36-28 lead. Kyle Paris sank a jumper from the left side for OB during this stretch.

0:28–NBT–timeout after a putback off a missed FT by Kyle Paris pulls OB within one at 40-39. OB on 11-4 run.

0:23–NBT–Butler–fouled and makes 1 of 2 FTs for a 41-39 lead.

0:11–OB–Paris fouled on floor. Makes 1 of 2FTs for a 41-40 lead.

0:07–NBT–timeout after a putback by Paris off his 2nd missed FT for a 42-41 lead.
