Here are highlights from the action in Bridgewater-Raritan’s win over Dunellen on the fifth night of games at the 2016 Bound Brook Summer League played at the Bound Brook Recreation Center.
In the second game of the GMC Hoops tripleheader at the 2016 Bound Brook Summer League at the Bound Brook Recreation Center, Dunellen took on Bridgewater-Raritan. The Panthers broke away from a 5-4 advantage at the 16:45 mark with a 13-3 spurt over a span of 15:15 to extend its lead to 18-7. Capping the run was a three pointer from the right side of the key at the 1:30 mark.
Dunellen, which played perhaps its best game of the summer yet, hung tough behind the play of point guard, Anthony Buccino. The Destroyers, sparked by two layups by Buccino late in the first half, put together a 15-6 rally over a span of just 6:44 to pull within two at 24-22 with 14:25 remaining. Unfortunately, Dunellen was unable to get any closer as Bridgewater-Raritan essentially put the game away with a 12-0 tear over the next 7:03 to take a 36-22 lead.
The Destroyers would finish the game strong with an 11-6 run that included a couple threes and then a late basket by Jibril Hagood-Henry to round out the 42-33 final score in Bridgewater-Raritan’s win.
